For many years the thrift-shop headquarters of the Salvation Army was located near my home. They had a bookshop, bless their souls. At random, the most wonderful reading came my way. It's the randomness I like. People decide to come to me for a portrait, and there it is again. I need this river of faces.

Anyone who follows a human face with a camera will experience many bad frames. I'll be blunt - one good one per hundred frames would be just fine. Two in a row? Well, my record is five, (the 'Meg is Pregnant' series). Statistically impossible, so something must be going on. I wouldn't tell even if I found out what it was. Here are a few of the series that have taken place in front of my camera.
